Thrift stores as time machines. The €3 blazer that changed my brain chemistry.
The theory goes like this: if you dress like who you want to be, you become her faster.
I believe this completely. Not because it always works, but because it sometimes works, and that's enough.
Last year I bought a blazer for three euros in a thrift store in a city I don't know. It doesn't fit perfectly. It's too big in the shoulders and too small to button up. But when I put it on I feel like the version of myself who knows what she's doing.
Fashion is a story you tell about yourself. And sometimes, if you're lucky, your brain starts to believe it.
My style advice: buy the things that make you feel something. Not the things that are correct, or logical, or 'your colour'. The things that do something to your insides.
