An honest story about the problem we all have but nobody wants to admit.
I've deleted social media three times this year. Every time I was back on it within seven days.
Not because I missed it. Because I needed it. What's the difference? I don't know anymore.
The strange thing is: I know exactly what it does to my brain. I've seen the documentaries. I know the statistics. I'm fully aware of the dopamine loops, the comparison mechanisms, the endless scrolling.
And then I scroll anyway.
Maybe the solution isn't quitting. Maybe the solution is learning to live with the contradiction. I hate social media AND I use it. I know it isn't good for me AND I check it first thing when I wake up.
Maybe we're all just very online contradictions.
